CrossFit Open 18.4

“The Tortoise & The Hare:Reshelled”

As in most fables and fairy tales everyone likes the characters. Last year we took a CrossFit rookie, who was full energy and vigor, and put him against a CrossFit veteran. Jared has been doing CrossFit for years and his workout mentality reflects his personality and demeanor. Cool, calm, collected and proper execution.

In 17.2 the result matched the prediction. Shane, “The Hare”, sprinted to an early lead. While Jared, “The Tortoise”, stuck to his pace the entire time. In the final ticks of the workout, Jared passed Shane on bar muscle ups to take the win.

Fast forward one year and what do we have? We still have two athletes who are true to their essence that was demonstrated so clearly in 17.2. Now with 18.4 upon us we have brand new movements and standards that have not been tested in The Open. Both can deadlift, both can handstand push, but can handstalk walk. The question is…..will there get there?!?! There’s a monstrous 315lb deadlift standing in there way with 21 reps.

Will Turtle Herder mentality help pull the reins back on Shane? Will the extra supplements force jared into a faster, uncomfortable pace?? Show up Friday night to find out who wins “The Tortoise and The Hare 2!!” [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
